Chained to the Moon is a new play by Greg Kalleres. It's a story about the tumultuous relationship between two young lovers who are tragically addicted to one another. But after two years of secrets and lies they discover that addiction is much stronger than love. The writing is fantastic -- great characters who grow and change and affect each other, with dialogue that nails the specific inarticulateness of rage within an argument better than anything I've ever seen.

This reading reunites the leads from my recent production of The Misanthrope. Barbara Suiter and Michael Truly are a great pair of actors with exactly the right kind of chemistry and chops for a show like this. Driving down from San Francisco for the show is DJ Zachary Walter. He'll be at the turntables before the reading and hooking up a soundtrack.

The idea here is of course to generate interest in a full production of this script. I'd love to direct it -- please let me know if you're a potential producer interested in reading the script or mounting a full production. Thanks!

I hope you can check it out on June 19.
